Whale Watch, Stellwagen Bank July 2009
|
Ever since I was gifted the crystal bed (Mt. Shasta, 2005), it has become somewhat of a
tradition to do something special each year for my birthday so in 2009 I decided that it must
be a Whale Watch. I have lived in New England my whole life yet somehow this had eluded
me.
On a beautiful July day, after 6 weeks of miserable rain, the clouds broke and the sun shone
forth. A small group of us drove to Hyannis in the early hours of a Saturday morning to
catch the morning trip out to Stellwagen Bank. As I look back at the date, it was July 11,
7/11. This number I see so frequently and have for years that I wonder, at this writing, why I
am surprised that it was 7/11. In numerology 11 is considered a Master Number and I myself
am an 11. We are the dreamers, those who hold the vision while the Master Number 22 is
able to make the vision manifest. But we cannot manifest what is not first internally
envisioned. So our small group set the intention and sent out the call to our great brothers
and sisters, the whales. It is said that their songs, their vibrations help to hold the tectonic
plates together. And my good friend and gifted channeler, Calvin Styles, has been told by
the whales themselves that once each year a representative from each species of whale meets
deep in the ocean, in a spot unknown to man, to hold Council. I believe this to be true. It is
also said that they hold the whole history of this planet in their memory. I believe this to be
true as well.
So, we set out on the most beautiful July morning, opening our hearts and sending out the
call. Would they come? Did they hear? They did come and they did hear. We watched a
group of 5 or 6 for a short time, but they were busy feeding, diving deep. Since whales can
stay underwater for minutes at a time, there was not all that much to witness so we moved on.
And then we found him!
He was a young male, only a year old and they had not seen him before. He appeared to be
by himself and we watched him nonstop for over an hour. He put on the best show one could
ever ask for, breaching over 30 times, tail slaps, fin slaps, double fin slaps. He did not stop.
We eventually had to head back as our time was up and as we got further and further away,
we just watched him, still breaching. And I knew I would dream of him that night...and I did. He
was still out there, still breaching and then in the dream there appeared two more. I knew that
they were old, what I can only consider Elders, and they swam close to the boat, looking at
us and it was all I could do to keep myself from jumping into the water to be with them. Since
it was a dream, I have no idea why I did not, but either way, it was a beautiful and magical
birthday. In all honesty, I'm not so sure I care to ever go on another whale watch again!
And the next day, the clouds and rain set in yet again. How truly blessed we are. I ask that
you remember the whales and the dolphins in your prayers. They are intelligent beyond
imagining. Listen to their songs for there is a part of you that understands them. Ask to be
with them in the dream time and as you travel through the dimensions, for they are
interdimensional beings, just as we are. And maybe, just maybe, one day they will tell us all
their secrets! Isn't he Beautiful?
